Omer Dean Kumpe, Jr., age 75

O.D. was a man of great faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved his small church, Covered in the Blood Ministries. He loved his girls (dogs), Dixie and Izzy, and enjoyed playing hide and seek with them. O.D. also was a devoted Razorback fan, win or lose, through thick or thin, he stood behind his Hogs!  He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Nathan Dean.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Susan Mason Kumpe, of the home; two daughters, Marie Helen Greene and her husband Keith of Ward and Tiffany Diane Smith of Little Rock; one brother, Charles Kumpe and his wife Melissa of Little Rock; one sister, Nina Rival of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandchildren, Austin Greene and Brittany Greene; three great grandchildren, Ahnnyah Greene, Nathan Greene and Nalah Greene all of Ward; one niece Angela and two nephews Tim and Aaron all of Albuquerque.

    O. D. Was a great guy and brother in the Lord
During our more than ,4 years at Covered in the Blood church we would go on Mondays to western sizzling to eat. Many times we talked more than eat and would be there a long time
Oh the stories he could tell. But much of our talk was about Jesus. He loved the Lord and his family. We know he’ll be missed. Rest in peace dear brother till we meet again.

OD was a very special man. He was always making people at church smile and laugh, playing his cane like a guitar 😊. He would always try and encourage others no matter what he was facing. He was one of a kind. I have so many wonderful memories. I miss u so much brother

I have fond memories of OD throughout our Fuller HS days. He was a kind and gentle spirit, and had an infectious laugh and a positive outlook despite a number of things he had to deal with. He will be missed by many, I am sure!

My brother was a unique person who managed his sufferings with a grace only God could give. I will miss his child like sense of wonder, his love of the old West and the memories of childhood spent riding stick horses. Most of all I will miss his phone calls that always ended with my same sentiment; goodbye and God go with you!
