Clayton “Clay” Walter Shapley, age 86

Clayton “Clay” Walter Shapley, 86, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away on October 17, 2023. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 5, 1936.

Clay was a retired firefighter from Kenner Fire Department in Kenner Louisiana. After retirement he loved playing golf and was an avid Motorcycle rider. He really enjoyed touring the beautiful Arkansas roads. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents Ellis Shapley and Inez Bauer, and his granddaughter Lisa Muir.

Clay is survived by his wife Jeannie Shapley; his children Curtis Shapley (Robin), Diana Payton (Keith), Russell Shapley (Vicki); his grandchildren Sean, Holly, Ryan, Kelly, and Liam; his great-grandchildren Jameson, Seyla, Curtis Allen, and Gracious; and many friends and extended family.

    Jeannie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. The KFD Heaven Squad just keeps on growing. I’m going to miss our visits to Ron’s Gumbo Stop. Prayers for you all.
