Clifford West, age 79

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clifford West, a man of warmth, joy, and immeasurable charisma. Clifford was born on September 1, 1944, and passed away on October 9, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and life lessons that continue to inspire.

Clifford is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Betty West, and their children; Matt Jackson, Heather Wright, Dawn Rosado, and Cliff West. He held a special place in his grandchildren’s hearts; Elizabeth Miller-Wright, Penelope Wright, Kyli Jackson, and Connor Jackson. His influence and love will also carry on through his son-in-law, Sam Wright and his daughter-in-law, Stefani Jackson. Ever the family man, Clifford is also survived by his brother, Ronnie West, and his sister, Becky Black.

Clifford is predeceased by his brothers, Robert West and Richard West, who welcomed him into eternal peace with open arms.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 14, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church. The service will honor Clifford’s vibrant character and the impact he made in the world. His boisterous laughter, jolly demeanor, and happy spirit touched all who knew him, and these memories will carry on in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcomed towards the Clifford West Memorial Fund, a cause close to Clifford’s heart. This fund will serve to provide Bibles for young people; a fitting tribute for a man whose greatest accomplishments lay in his ability to make a difference in the lives of youth. Clifford’s influence on the lives of his kids and grandchildren, as well as the lives of many others, was profound and enduring.

Clifford’s legacy is one of optimism and growth. He was a mentor and guide to many youths, making a difference in their lives. The lessons he left us with, particularly the importance of making the most of one’s life, will continue to guide us. These teachings form the foundation of his legacy, which he believed lay in nurturing our youth to become their best selves. His belief that the best way to grow is to focus on the youth was not just a sentiment, but a principle he applied every day. This will be remembered as the cornerstone of his legacy.

Though we mourn Clifford’s passing, we will honor his memory by living joyously, just as he did. Clifford was an embodiment of living life to the fullest for Christ. His laughter will echo in our hearts, and his lessons will be the roadmap for our lives.

Clifford’s jovial personality, infectious laughter, and wisdom will be indelibly etched in our minds and hearts. His life serves as a reminder that, even though our time here is finite, the impact we have on those around us is infinite. May his soul rest in peace and his legacy live on in the hearts and minds of those he touched.
