Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Edward Norris Hancock, age 88

Edward Norris Hancock, age 88, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29, 2023, in hospice at Conway Regional Medical Center, Conway, Arkansas. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on April 25, 1935, to Edward J. Hancock and Leona Schick.

Ed was an exceptional husband and father. A humble, yet complex man. He lived a life of love and service to his God, family, country, and all those he touched. Ed strived to live the commandment to love God first and your neighbor as yourself.  Unfortunately, in his later years, dementia robbed him of much of life’s enjoyment, but he never lost the ability to recognize his family and the friends who were there to comfort him.

Ed is survived by his wife, Barbara; son Michael (Kelly), their children, Madeleine and Sebastian; sister, Mary LeStrange (Bill); brothers, Thomas and Michael (Sue); sisters-in-law Eileen Hancock and Joan Ellison; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret; and brother, John.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway, Arkansas, on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. Final interment will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute in Ed’s name to a church or charity of your choice.

Sad to hear of the loss of Ed. He was a great neighbor as were his wife and son many years ago. God bless and keep the family in peace going forward.
