Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Karen “Beth” Baldwin, age 61

Karen “Beth” Baldwin, age 61, after a lifetime battle with Type 1 diabetes, departed this life on October 22, 2023. Born in Earle, Arkansas on November 27, 1961, she was the daughter of William Sidney Baldwin, Sr. And Gail Ziegenhorn Baldwin.

Beth had many adventures and made many friends wherever she went throughout her life. In addition to her hometown, she lived in Bryant, AR (high school) and Walnut Ridge, AR (college); Memphis, TN; and in Horseshoe Lake, Texarkana, Heber Springs and Little Rock, AR. If you knew Beth, you knew her for her sense of humor, her love of country music (when country wasn’t cool), her love of the outdoors – especially fishing, her Elvis imitation, her cartoon voices and her generous spirit. Wherever she lived or worked, Beth always drew people to her.

Deeply important to Beth was her faith in Jesus Christ and her family. In addition to loving her role as the eldest child and big sister, she had a special place in her heart for each of her nieces and nephews, who absolutely loved their Aunt “Boo.”

She will be missed by those she is survived by: her mother, Gail Baldwin, siblings Stacey (Jim) Hammons, Bill (Lisa) Baldwin, Lynda Gail (Chad) Teague; her beloved nieces and nephews: Josh (Kat), Sydney (Conor), Kaleigh (Josh), Carley, Will, Abby and Colt, as well as her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, William Sidney Baldwin Sr. and her favorite dog, Jackson.

Beth and her family were very grateful for all the care providers she had throughout her life, especially for the transplant team at UAMS and the kidney donor who gave us 7 more years together.

A memorial service will be held on November 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, Arkansas, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, UAMS or the charity of your choice.

Beth was the coolest big sister. I loved going to her house with Lynda Gail when we were growing up. Her parrot was my favorite, and I now have an Amazon of my own. She was so fun and she will be dearly missed. Send love, hugs, and especially prayers for her whole family.

Our prayers are with the family. I used to babysit Beth many years ago.
