Lester Edwards was born September 16, 1965 to the late John Henry Edwards Sr and Berniece Riley.
Lester lived a joyful life. A life that was filled with many lessons, experiences, and was loved filled. In 1992 Lester began what he would’ve considered one of his greatest accomplishments which was becoming a father to his only child Andrea Edwards.
From 1987 until 2003 Lester served and protected his country in the US Army. While in the military he performed one tour overseas in Germany. He served in both Desert Storm and Desert Shield. While enlisted in the army he went into one of his most productive career with Union Pacific Railroad Company. Through hard work and dedication he worked his way up to become a lead train engineer. Lester was also welcome into the brotherhood of the FreeMasons. Later in life he changed careers and became a dedicated driver for Tyson.
Lester from a young age was dedicated to the Lord. He learned his loved of the Lord from his mother who made sure here children followed and grew up in there word. He was a proud member of the usher board at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. A place where he love to fellowship with his church members and worship the Lord.
Lester was preceded in death by his father John Henry Edwards Sr. and his brothers Charles Edwards, Bruce Edwards, and Marty Edwards.
Lester leaves behind many loved ones that will celebrate his life and legacy. He’s leaves his daughter Andrea Edwards of Russellville, AR. His mother Berniece Riley of Jacksonville, AR. His wife Phyllis Edwards of Little Rock, AR. Two sisters Deriece (Clarence) Walters of Jacksonville, AR and Kimberly Edwards of Jonesboro, AR. Four brothers Johnny Edwards of Jacksonville, AR, Frank Edwards of Jacksonville, AR, John(Pauline) Edwards of Osceola, AR, Willie James Hines of North Little Rock, AR. He also leaves behind a host of step brothers and step sisters, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 9:30am with funeral at 10:30am at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. Burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
