James Lyons Sr. was born on December 13, 1960 in Washington, Pennsylvania. Jim served as a deputy for Pulaski County for 23 years. After retiring in October 2020, Jim fought for two and a half years with cancer. He fought with much dignity and pride, losing his battle November 7, 2023 before going to his forever home.
Jim was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; uncle Butch Davis; daughter Courtney Triplet Hilburn; and grandson James Michael Lyons III.
To carry on his memory, he leaves behind his wife Angie Lyons of 30 years; parents Charles and Ethel Lyons; brother Charles Lyons and wife Meri Lyons; sister Carol Forton and fiancé Sammy Trantham; son James (Jimmy) Lyons Jr and wife Lacey Lyons; daughter Andrea Lyons; grandchildren Elayna Wardrip and husband Corey Wardrip, Phillip Hilburn, Dakota Lyons, Tyler Canfield, Brooke Lyons, Lilly Lyons, Jayden Netzley, Hana Lyons, Brentley Lyons, and Brylee Lyons; great-grandchildren Eli Wardrip, Braxton Wardrip, Harper Wardrip, Cloey Hilburn, and Christian Hilburn; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Jim on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 3:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

My grandfather was my hero, I always looked up to him. I will always remember how no matter how he was feeling he wanted to put a smile on my face. Losing my Grandfather is one of the hardest things I’m having to go through right now. His memory will always live on.
Papaw was an amazing person even though he was in pain he always made people laugh papaw was the best person in my life he always made me smile. I will never forget the last time I saw him. This is hard to go through because he has been with me for my whole life and papaw will never be forgoten.
