Robert Fairley Cissell, age 75

Robert Fairley Cissell, age 75, of Bassett, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Robert was born to the late John Robert and Carrie Mae Cissell on May 20th, 1948. He attended school at Wilson High School, class of 1966. Robert was drafted into the military in 1968 and in a quick 18 months, was promoted to Sargent. Once Robert finished his enlistment, he went on to spend his civilian career at the Pine Bluff arsenal. Robert met the love of his life, Eva, in 1992 and they quickly married, and he inherited a host of family members that all quickly fell in love with him. After Robert retired, he went on to assist Eva in her many endeavors. Robert enjoying working with his hands, which included building doll houses with anyone who wanted to help. He also loved the outdoors. On a warm day, you could almost always find him outside mowing the grass or basking in the sun. When Robert wasn’t working on something, he loved to travel with Eva. They went on many cruises together and owned a home in Florida.  Robert loved sports, especially the Razorbacks. On a fall Saturday, you could almost always catch Robert in front of the TV watching a game. He was a wealth of knowledge when it came to sports – he would impress you with the number of stats he had stored in his brain. A few descriptive words that most would use to classify Robert are strong, constant, and loving – he loved with his whole heart.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, John Fitz Cissell, Kenneth Lamar Cissell, Larry Edward Cissell, Danny Harmon Cissell, and Walter Lynn Cissell; sister, Lola Pearl Stafford; and his loving wife, Eva.

Robert is survived by his children Patricia Schuller (Michael), Mark Manning, and Pamela Manning; nine grandchildren Adam Manning (Ashley), Joel Manning, Samuel Manning, Molly Boyd (Tyler), Taylor Robinson, Ocean Manning, Irie Manning, and Freen Manning; six great grandchildren Luka Matayo, Adaley Manning, Josi Boyd, Ayden Manning, Edwin Boyd, and Olivia Boyd; two sisters Donna Marie Wiedower (Ben), and Mary Elizabeth Halford; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly.

Private memorial service and celebration of life to be announced at a later time.
