Barbara E. Martin (Nanny), age 78

Barbara E. Martin (Nanny), age 78, of Spring, Texas, formerly of Mabelvale, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 in Katy, Texas. She was born in Monticello, Arkansas on August 25, 1945 to the late Hubert Victor Sanson and Lois Inez (Trantham) Sanson.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Fred R. Martin; sons Michael Lee Allen and Dale Dewayne Allen; maternal grandparents Joe Trantham and Elsie Dodson Trantham; paternal grandparents Walter Henery Sanson and Pearl Sanson.

She leaves behind her children Tracy (Pam) Allen of Conway, AR, April (Marc) Wasson of Spring, TX; grandchildren Shelby (Tylor) Webb of Killeen TX, Matthew (Jamie) Heslep of North Little Rock, AR, Austin Deason of Conway, AR, Amber (Jeram) Martinez of Killeen, TX, and Christian (Justin) Roberson of Hot Springs, AR; siblings Judy (Lawrence) Slaughter, Deana (Bill) Papetti, Jerry (Nancy) Sanson, and Kim (Michael) Hawkins; great-grandchildren Cason Heslep, Dallas Deason, Zoey Deason, Callie Webb, Maddie Webb, Keniel Martinez, Dimitryi Massengal, Azariah Roberson, Jasper Roberson, James Cummings, and Matthew Minick Jr; along with many more extended family and friends.

Barbara (Nanny) will be remembered for her sweet and pure soul! She will also be remembered for her love of cooking, crocheting, butterflies, and dedication to loving and raising many children; those of her family and many other families.

A visitation will be held to honor Barbara on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 5:00-7:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

A funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00am at Crystal Hill Baptist Church; 18823 Crystal Valley Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210. Burial will follow after the funeral at Crystal Hill Cemetery in Little Rock.

    I will never forget this wonderful lady. We use to have the best times. I’m so proud of April & Marc for taking such good care of her. RIP Barbara. I love you and your sweet family.
