Jacquette “Jackie” Arietta Thompson, age 72

Jacquette (Jackie) Arietta Thompson, age 72, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on December 22, 2023. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on November 11, 1951 to the late Albert and Mary Dale.

Jackie graduated from Arkansas School for the Blind. She enjoyed spending her time reading, swimming, cooking, and socializing. She loved her family and spending time with them. Jackie would take care of anyone, even considering herself as “everyone’s mom” taking care of kids that weren’t hers.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary Dale; siblings Jimmy V. and his wife Jimmie Gale Redmond, Nita Weaver and her husband CJ, Jerry Redmond, and Alyce Seigrist and her husband Charles; niece Kimberly Weaver; niece Billie Jo Seigrist; and great granddaughter Emberleigh Hillman.

Jackie leaves behind her husband Sammy Thompson; children Shelly Hillman (Brent), Janie Thompson-Green (Brad), and David Schiller (Linda);  her grandchildren Tabitha Lynch (Corey),  Samantha Bates (Andrew), Rachel Hillman (Aaron), Keiley Schiller, and Wesley Hillman; great grandchildren Aiden Bates, Eli Bates, Rayna Hillman, Gracelynn Bates, Jesse Lynch, Ezra Lynch, Titus Hillman, Wilden Dunkle, and Asher Schiller.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 3:00 with the funeral service following at 4:00 at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, AR.

    Jackie, I wish I could have met you in person. Me and you would have been best buddies, best friends, because your grandson, granddaughter, and I attended the Arkansas School For The Blind as well as you did. I will miss you buddy old pal and I’ll meet you someday in heaven.

    My sincere condolences to the entire family. I love that ol’ cow. It won’t be the same mooing without her. I know you must be heartbroken. Shelly and Sammy, I’m sending you big, tight hugs. Praying for peace and comfort for the entire family. She brought joy to so many, myself included. I know we’ll meet again.

    Jackie was my school mama from the time. I was 16 years old until now and I’m sure gonna miss her. She knows what I went through with my husband and I know what Shelley and then we’re going through. I really miss her so much.
