Leonard Earl Flatt, age 63

Leonard Earl Flatt, age 63, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away December 7, 2023. He was born in Sheffield, Alabama on November 5, 1960 to Noah Flatt and Easter Magdelene Coosenberry.

Leonard’s mother taught him how to cook at an early age. He was a wonderful cook and earned his living working in a kitchen. Later in life, he took care of residents at a nursing home. Before he retired, Leonard worked in the Alzheimer wing of the nursing home, and he treasured each one of his residents. In his free time, he loved working in his yard and planting beautiful flowers. He also enjoyed going to garage sales. He often said he could, “turn trash into treasures”.

Leonard is preceded in death by his father Noah Flatt of Tyronza; his mother Magdelene Dickerson and stepfather Lee Dickerson of Tyronza.

Leonard leaves behind his daughter Crystal Nicole Flatt; two grandchildren Katlynn Kaun and Cory Kaun of Louisville, TN; two sisters Lillie Gilmer of North Little Rock and Sherie (Edward) Dixon of Maumelle; one brother David (Cathy) Flatt of North Little Rock; three nieces and eight nephews; special friend Joe Hunt; along with a host of grandnieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and his loyal dog “Lola”.

A visitation will be held to honor Leonard on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:00am with a funeral service starting at 11:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

    I remember Leonard as a small kid on my grandpa Cavitt’s farm.. His step dad Lee, his mother Maggie, David, Lillie and Sherrie all chopped and picked cotton… Hard work for small children.. Rest in peace Leonard.

    Leonard Flatt was a great friend, if you were down, he always made me laugh! He was sweet and dear to all who knew him. He was very humorous, he had a great personality. We will miss and love you. RIP Leonard.
