Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Audrey Louise Mitchell Holmes, age 70

Audrey Louise Mitchell Holmes, age 70, of Scott, Arkansas, crossed over into her eternal heavenly home on the night of December 27, 2023.  Audrey fought a fierce and furious six-month battle with cancer that took her body, but it did not take her life. Her life is eternal in Christ Jesus. She fought the good fight, completed the race, kept the faith, and is now in the arms of her Savior.

Audrey was an extraordinarily devoted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was known to her daughter as momma, her grandchildren as Ninnie, and her family as DeeDee.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Drucilla Mitchell, father, M.O. Mitchell, and sister Marie Mitchell Warner.

Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Charlie Mack Holmes.  Her daughter, Natalie McGee, partner Noah.  Her grandsons, Eric McGee, partner Demetri, and Charles McGee, wife Kaitlyn.  Her brother, Daniel Mitchell.  Her brother-in-law, John Warner, wife Joni.  Her nieces, Desiree Bell, husband Tracy, Ashley Mitchell, and Kelsey Taylor, husband Joseph.  Her nephews, John Warner III, wife Vicky, Daniel Mitchell, Jr, Kristopher Mitchell, wife Jane, and Robert Warner.  Her stepmother, Nelda Mitchell.  Her dogs, Sam and Arya, and many more beloved family members and lifetime friends.  Audrey is also survived and celebrated by her entire church family at Grace Baptist Church in Scott, Arkansas.

Audrey was born in Houston, Texas, on August 17, 1953, to M.O. and Drucilla Mitchell.  She graduated from South Houston High School in 1971.  Audrey loved Jesus, her family, and her friends.  She was a member and choreographer of her drill team in high school, an accomplished dancer and dance instructor, model, professional photographer, cook, business owner, painter, sculptor, poet, and potter.  Audrey received a degree in cosmetology in 1983 and perfected her craft over a 40-year career.  She even played the guitar.

No words can express how much she’s loved and will be missed.

Her memorial service is Saturday, January 6, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church @ 408 N. Walkers Corner, Scott, Arkansas, 72142.  Pastor Brad Vaden is officiating.  The “Ladies of Grace” will provide a meal immediately after the service.
