Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Brenda Kay Gibson, age 64

Brenda Kay Gibson, of Vilonia, Arkansas, passed away on January 10, 2024, after a year long battle with cancer. Brenda was born in Cabool, Missouri on August 21,1959. She attended school in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Brenda held different jobs over the years but was most recently an EKG tech at UAMS for over 10 years.

Brenda married Troy Gibson on April 27,1977. Troy and Brenda were best friends from the time they were fifteen years old and as such they enjoyed spending time together. She loved being outside and working on the farm or watching Westerns with him.

Brenda also enjoyed hunting for rocks, finding new plants, and antiquing with her sister and close friend Cheryl. During the Spring and Summer, Brenda could always be found out in the yard mowing, gardening, or taking care of their various animals. Brenda loved both animals and plants. Brenda could get any plant to grow and thrive. She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids grow and thrive most of all.

Brenda is survived by her husband Troy, her children Joseph Gibson (Mary), Candace Miller (Jamieson), James Gibson (Shelly), Carrie Wyatt (Dane), and Caitie Gibson (Mike). She is also survived by her siblings Jimmy Hurst, Cheryl Sartor, and Brad Hurst. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ben, John, Grady, Amelia, Maycee, Alice, Zada, Grant, Gibson, Case, and Wrigley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Billy (Jim) and Bonnie Hurst, her sister Rhonda Goss, and two grandsons Graham Miller and Cooper Wyatt.

Visitation services will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday January 20, 2024, at Saltillo Heights Baptist Church. A funeral service for the family will follow the visitation.
