Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Eddie Dean Scott, age 57

Eddie Dean Scott of Jacksonville, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2024. He was born on September 9, 1966 in Rockwall, Texas to Allen Ray Scott and Helen Joyce Melton Scott.

Eddie worked as a carpet layer for many years. He grew up learning various trades from his dad and his uncles, so he could do just about anything. He started his own business in lawn care where he worked for the city of Jacksonville. He was given an award for Citizen of the Year in 1997. He did lawn care until he got a job at Union Pacific Railroad where he retired as a welder.

Eddie loved to go to the car races at I-30 Speedway. He loved collecting models of old cars and going to antique car shows. He liked flea markets and working outside in the yard. He liked western movies, and his favorite shows were Gunsmoke and Sanford and Son which seemed like he watched 24/7. He loved listening to Gospel music, and he believed in God. He was full of life, and he liked to tease and pick on his family and friends. His greatest achievements in life were his children, grandchildren, his truck, and his dog “Buddy Dean”.

He was preceded in death by his father Allen Ray Scott; brother Danny Ray Scott; and daughter Savanna Carol Scott.

He is survived by his wife Karen Hempstead Scott; four children Melissa Joyce (James) Robison, Bobby Dean (Angela) Scott, Carley Scott, and Brittney Nicole (Dillon) Reynolds; his mother Helen Joyce Melton Scott; two sisters and two brothers Terry Lee (Mary) Scott, Linda Joyce Glover, Paul Wayne Scott, and Connie Lynn Scott; along with 11 grandchildren.
