To Brad and the Kumpe family, I send my deepest condolences for Coach Russ. I had the opportunity a couple of years ago to tell him how much of an influence he had in my life decisions. He will always be a star in the sky, as far as I’m concerned. Rest well, Coach!!!

Renee, y’all are my prayers
He will be greatly missed, the most stubborn loveable man I’ve met! Hunter looks so much like him and I remember how much joy holding that little boy brought him. We will be praying for you
This was a great coach and mentor to me. I played foe him on the Fire Department team in the late eighties early nineties. He always made me laugh and challenged me. He was the first Coach that let me practice and throw the famous “Ephus pitch” but only when he called it of course. I don’t know how many people we got out on that pitch. Thanks Coach Kumpe! Rest easy.
