Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Audra Wade LaRue, age 52

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Audra Wade LaRue, who passed away on March 8th, 2024, due to complications from pneumonia. She was only 52 years old. Audra was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Audie Eugene and Bettye Smith Wade. She leaves behind her husband of 26 years, John M. LaRue, her son Jonathan and his wife Hayley Wade, grandchildren Brynlee and Asher, sister Crystal Ellis(Billy), Brother-in-laws Wesley LaRue (Gwen) and Joe LaRue (Lee) plus a host of nieces and nephews. Audra cherishes her family more than anything. She loved spending with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing huge meals for the family gatherings. Her kindness and love touched everyone who knew her. she had a warm smile and a gentle spirit that radiated love and compassion.

Audra was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2017, but that didn’t stop her from continuing to do all the things she loved. When she received her diagnosis, she was working for the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA) in Little Rock, AR. Working with organ donors, recipients, and their families was her passion. She was able to go to California three times to work on the Donate Life float for the Tournament of Roses Parade. She also was able to place a memorial rose in honor of her father, who was an organ donor.

Per Audra’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. There will be a Celebration of Life on April 13, 2024, location still to be determined. Audra was so selfless; she didn’t want her loved ones to have to go through a funeral service. Please keep her husband and the rest of her family and friends in your prayers as they learn to navigate life without Audra.

I was privileged to be able to hire Audra at ARORA. One of the best hiring decisions I eve made. She was a wonderful employee, fully devoted to organ and tissue donation, and she improved our (then) new call center services greatly. I was happy to promote her to a manager position and she remained a great resource for our agency. Audra was truly a warm-hearted, special person who touched the lives around her in a special way. RIP Audra, you will be missed.
