Ellis Martin Jr, 78, of Scott, Arkansas passed away on March 21, 2024. He was born in Coy, Arkansas on March 7. 1946 to Ellis Martin Sr and Lois B. Johnson Martin.
Ellis was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed amateur woodworking. He loved all sports and was a huge fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Ellis was blessed with the gift of gab and never met a stranger. He was a self-taught guitar picker and loved most music. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Ellis worked for Cash Lumber and National Lumber; along with time spent commercial farming. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Dub (Lorene) Martin, Billy (Carolyn) Martin, Carl Martin, Lereva (Curly) Moody, Jim Martin, and Margaret Beard; brother-in-law Dan Collins; his daughter Kim Martin Downes and his son-in-law Kenny Downes.
Ellis is survived by his wife of 54 years Kathryn Robelot Martin; his daughter Kerry Martin-Rodriguez; his grandchildren Gabi and Ryan Rodriguez and Wes Downes; his siblings Danny (Kathy) Martin, Virginia Collins, and Mike (Kathy) Martin, sister-in-law Christine Martin, brother-in-law William Beard; and many other extended family members and friends whom he cherished dearly.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Chapel of A Natural State Funeral Service.

Ellis Jr,Didn’t care where we was or who was around or how long it had been since he’d seen you ,He knew you ,he had a hug for you and a sweet comment that let you know he knew just who you where and who you belong ,too,I have sweet memories of him,My Daddy( Jr) Larry ,Johnny,Danny ,Mike all at our house when I was so young and they’d be picking them guitars Sanging “Go,Johnny Go,Johnny be Good” Sweet memories and so many times gone by ,RIP ,My Love and Prayer’s to our entire family ,Forever ♥️🌿
Prayers for our family he was a sweet man and I’ remember him coming by our house all the time or seeing him around in Rose city when I was growing up always so sweet with hugs for Everyone… love y’all
