Mary Virginia Wood Taylor, age 85, years old, of Eldorado, Arkansas, died peacefully at her home, after a long illness, surrounded by loved ones, March 20 2024.

Mary was born in Eldorado, Ar. Aug 31, 1938 to Wallace Wood and Deana Givens Jeter, she touched so many people with her love, and caring ways, and never met a stranger. She was employed by Brookshires where she retired, she spent many years as a caregiver and good friend to many.

Mary attended Junction City High School, where she excelled at sports and was an All-Star basketball player, winning many awards. She was a member of Antioch Church of Christ in Spearsville, La. She loved the Lord Jesus and all the brothers and sisters in the faith and was in attendance when her health permitted.

Mary was preceded by in death by her father Wallace Wood, Mother Deana Givens Jeter, stepfather David Mack Jeter, husband Malcum Taylor, son Donald Nelson Taylor, grandson Matthew Nelson Taylor, sisters Alice Ray Wood Norris, Mary Alice Jeter Hawkins, Bobby Jeter Cogburn, and brothers James Jeter and Lee Wayne Jeter.

Mary is survived by Her son, Timothy Ray Taylor, granddaughter Karen Marr,  Special niece Jan Norris Peppers, special nephew Nick Charles and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to caregivers Ashley Jones, Betty Sue Harris and the staff of Lifetouch Hospice, and many friends and extended family that would support the family throughout her illness.

Memorial services to be determined by the Family at a future date.
