Charles Wayne Milner, age 91

Charles Wayne Milner, age 91, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024. He was born in Cave City, Arkansas on August 11, 1932 to the late Walter and Minnie Garrison Milner.

Charles served in the Korean War from 1953-1955. He was a corporal in the 6th Armored Division Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He later transferred to the Army Reserve and honorably discharged in 1961. He proudly achieved the National Defense Service Medal and the Award of Good Conduct. In 1973 he was ordained as a deacon at Old Austin Baptist Church. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot for 48 years. He retired from Arkansas Best Freight as a diesel mechanic. He is also a retired over the road truck driver with MAGS Trucking.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Minne Milner and his brother Carl Emerson Milner.

Charles is survived by his wife of 70 years Patricia Smith Milner; children Belinda Milner Whitley and her husband Jerry Whitley of Cabot and Rick Milner of North Little Rock; grandchildren Christy Whitley Baum and Melanie Whitley both of California; 2 great grandchildren Mia and Jude Baum; nephews Gary and Jerry Milner; and one niece Kay Milner.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 1:00 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M.

Memorials can be made in Charles’s honor to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS.
