Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Donna Beth McElroy Jones, age 65

Hello, my name is Donna Beth McElroy Jones. I came into this world on August 24, 1958 in Arkansas, and I left much earlier than planned on April 17, 2024.

While I am in the bright sunshine of heavenly eternity, I wanted so much more time with my amazing best friend and husband, David; my Alabama daughters, Brandy and Ali who David brought into our life these 15 years together; and more time with our seven house pet children and with all my life-long McElroy and Jones family and friends!

DeWitt and Ruby McElroy raised me and brothers, James and Gary in Gravel Ridge, Arkansas. I enjoyed my 25-year data analyst career at Blue Cross Blue Shield with some very loving teacher-friends: “Thank you!”

I lovingly shared my spiritual journey and theology with Mt Pleasant United Methodist congregation as part of their 11am Sunday Service Speaking Team.

Devotedly, I served my Sherwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Gravel Ridge where my memorial service is Saturday, May 4th at 3:00pm; 15202 Hwy 107, Jacksonville, AR. Pastor Keith Rusk will be presiding. Please send memorial gifts to caring and rescuing pet organizations.

It is so hard to believe you are gone. You have been the consistent in my life since I moved to Arkansas. I was looking forward to spending more time with you as we “aged gracefully,’ but that isn’t in the future. You modeled true forgiveness and love for others. Thank you for loving me…for being my friend and support. Your handprint is on my heart forever.

My heart is so sad to lose my dear friend Donna. While I know she is at rest in Jesus with no more back or hip pains, I will still miss those funny looks while sitting in front of me in the pew at church. She called me ‘sista-friend’ and I called her ‘sista-friend’ back. She sent sweet texts with prayer requests for her family and friends all of the time. Her prayers were precious in every service. She loved so many, and so many loved her.

I grew up in Gravel Ridge with the McElroy family and knew Donna, her brothers, and her parents very well. It is sad that they have all passed on. Donna was always a sweet person with a great personality and she loved to laugh. I don’t remember seeing or hearing of Donna ever getting into an argument with anyone. God Bless and Rest in Peace, Donna.
