Joseph Martin Kaczkowski of Jacksonville, AR went to his heavenly home to be with his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on March 30, 2024. (Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:8b.) He was 81 years old.
Joseph was born in Teaneck, NJ on July 20, 1942, the son of Anthony C. Kaczkowski and Modesta Anos Blaszak Kaczkowski. He lived most of his life in Port Jervis, NY but moved to Jacksonville, AR in 2020 due to failing health and to be near family.
Joseph served four years in the U.S. Army and initially was stationed at Fort Devens, MA, and he subsequently served in the Vietnam War, 3rd RRU division in 1964-65. He then had the privilege of serving in Kassel, Germany in 1966-68. Joseph continued his military service in the Army Reserves for a total of 38 years and rose in rank to Chief Warrant Officer (CW4).
Having obtained both his Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Education, he was a school teacher in Vernon, NJ where he taught sixth grade and high school German.
A loving family man of many talents and of a persevering nature, he was a self-taught handyman who did all the carpentry and other repairs on several rental properties.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife Ruth Kaczkowski of Jacksonville, AR; two siblings: his brother Francis Kaczkowski of Port Jervis, NY and his sister Helen Bull of Roseville, CA; three children: Theresa Kaczkowski of Hot Springs Village, AR, Stephen Kaczkowski and wife, Haiqing, of Columbia, SC, Michael Kaczkowski and wife, Pippa, of Jacksonville, AR; four grandchildren: Jason Wagner of Williston, ND, Rachel Kaczkowski of Austin, TX, Daniel Kaczkowski of Atlanta, GA, and Lily Ruth Kaczkowski of Estepona, Spain.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:00pm with a funeral service starting at 2:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Interment will follow on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 9:00am at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.

Ruth, I am sorry for your loss. Nina and I enjoyed his visits to our office in Slate Hill. I particularly enjoyed the conversations that he and I had about his years in the military/overseas. Truly he was a good man and will be missed. God bless you and yours…
