Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Larry Alan Charbonneau, aged 67

Larry Alan Charbonneau, aged 67, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2024 at his home in Jacksonville, Arkansas due to smoke inhalation from an accidental house fire. Larry was born on November 28, 1956 to J. Henry and Ellen (Derocher) Charbonneau. He was a father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Larry grew up on the family farm in Pinconning, Michigan until his parents opened the first Charbonneau’s Family Restaurant in Pinconning. He attended the Saganing School and later graduated from Pinconning High School. Larry served overseas in Germany while in the United States Army. He and his family lived in Oscoda, MI for the most part from 1982-2004, where he and his wife Helen and their children helped his parents with the Oscoda branch of Charbonneau’s Family Restaurant. During the mid 1980’s he owned and operated his own family restaurant in Sterling, MI for a short time. In 2004, Larry, his wife Helen, and youngest son Bradley moved to Arkansas to be close to his daughter, Jennifer and her family, who were located there due to the military. During that time Larry worked as a server at Denny’s in Little Rock from 2005-2022. After leaving Denny’s, Larry blessed many customers’ lives at Circle K in Cabot, AR. Larry was known for his exceptional memory, recalling both large customer orders and dozens of family birthdays with ease. His happiest times were spent with family and friends celebrating a special occasion, holiday, or birthday. Larry was so generous and kind with all who knew him. He loved to cook for everyone and serve them food and coffee, and always made sure no one went home hungry. He spent most of his life in the service industry and was beloved by so many customers. Everyone knew him as the sweet man with the big mustache and he will be so very missed.

In the years preceding his death he enjoyed making trips back to Michigan to visit all of his siblings, whom he was very close to. He also enjoyed texting in a group text with his siblings to stay up on all the latest family news. He spent most of his free time with his children Bradley and Jennifer in Sherwood, AR, staying at Bradley’s house most of the time enjoying family dinners and outings.

Larry is survived by his former wife of 31 years, Helen Charbonneau (Jacksonville, AR), his children Jennifer Lambdin (Sherwood, AR), Charles (Mary) Charbonneau (Lillian, AL), and Bradley Charbonneau (Sherwood, AR), and 7 grandchildren:

Maria, Jessie, and Mason Lambdin and Allison, Logan, Olivia, and Elaina Charbonneau.
