Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Lorene Murray Craine, age 98

Lorene Murray Craine of Jacksonville, AR passed away April 21st, 2024.

She was born January 5th, 1926 in Fox, AR. At the age of 7 she traveled with her parents and siblings in a covered wagon to the farming community of Lost Cane in Mississippi County, Arkansas.  This is where she met the love of her life while in grade school and they married on September 26th, 1942, and raised 4 children together.  They were married for 59 years until his death in 2001.

She was a lifelong member of Little River Missionary Baptist Church in Lost Cane.  Due to her husband’s illness they relocated to Jacksonville, AR in September 2000.  After his death in July 2001, she regularly attended and was an active member of Westside Baptist Church until her own illness prevented her attendance.  Westside had a very special place in her heart.  She often said: “If something happens to your dad before me, that’s the church I’m going to because it reminds me of that little country church where I raised you kids.” She loved working in the kitchen (both at home and the church), all the friends she made and of course the fellowship.

To welcome her in heaven with open arms and shouts of joy are her husband: Raymond Talmadge Craine, her parents: Stonewall Jackson Murray and Elizabeth Howard Murray, her Brother George Edward Murray, her twin sisters: Nola Brinkley and Oma Evans, her Grandsons: Bryan Christopher Craine and Justin Talmadge Beshears.

Left to cherish her memory are her 4 children: Jerry Ray (Donna) Craine of Blytheville, AR; Gail C (Jim) Peacock of Jacksonville, AR; Ronald E. Craine of Manila, AR; and Judith K. Beshears of Jacksonville, AR. 8 Grandchildren, 2 Bonus Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 10 Bonus Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren, 3 Bonus Great Great Grandchildren, 3 nieces and a very dear friend Mary Johnson as well as her church family and a host of other dear friends and family.

A visitation will be held to honor her life on April 27th, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at Carney Funeral Home in Blytheville, AR with Interment following at Manila Cemetery.
