Melva Jo Knox, age 90, of Romance, Arkansas passed away on April 17, 2024. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on April 1, 1934 to parents Jesse Carrell and Mary Zada (McPherson) Carrell.
Melva is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Marie Mitchell, Floyd Carrell, Lloyd Carrell, Imo Jean Gregston, Georgia Russell, and Yvonne Morris.
She is survived by her children Richard Knox, Rhonda Pettingill (Donald), Regina Broadway, Rita Knox, Rebecca Holden (Ricky), Robin Knox, and Ronald Knox; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters Tina McLeod and Juanita Carrell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Melva loved to spend time with her family. She was very close with her brothers and sisters. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading her Bible.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

She was a long time friend of ours
at Pathfinders. She was my instructor for years til she decided to retire from there. We had a going away party for her. It made her happy. People who knew her well at Pathfinders will miss her. God bless her family at this sad time.

I knew Melva and Rita Knox from friends that I used to visit across the street where I used to live and then Melva was an Instructor for Pathfinder’s I enjoyed talking and the visits at work. Melva was a great person and she loved her Job.
