Walton Jerald “Fritz” Summers, age 94

Walton Jerald “Fritz” Summers, age 94, of Lonoke, Arkansas passed away on April 18, 2024. He was born in Vernon, Texas on February 3, 1930 to parents Courtney Murray Summers and Minnie Iva (Sursa) Summers.

Fritz proudly served in the United States Army and Air Force for nearly 40 years. He worked at the Fort Roots VA for 32 years before retiring. Fritz loved his community and never hesitated to help others. Most of all, he loved his family and his friends and will be missed dearly.

Fritz is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Alma Jones and wife Linda Summers; and siblings Johnny, Buck, Pete, Wilburn, and Ruth.

He is survived by his children Walton (Penny) Summers II, Lisa Summers, and Catherine Summers; grandchildren Walton (Amber) Summers III, Stacey Sims, Cody (Rebecca) Sims, and William (Katie) Summers; great-grandchildren Jaddan, Ivory, Makenzie, Landon, Addalynn, Emma, Hayden, and Izabella; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended friends, and family.

Special thanks to the caring staff at Cabot Nursing and Rehab for the excellent care and comfort they provided Fritz.

In lieu of flowers make donations in his honor to the Jacksonville Military Museum or Options Pregnancy Center.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Graveside service will follow at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

    Fritz was a great man. He was good to so many people. My father and I worked many days alongside Fritz. Jay and Family I’m sorry for you loss.
