Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Dorthy Marie (Toot) Keathley, age 92

In loving memory of Dorthy Marie (Toot) Keathley, a cherished mother of four, who peacefully passed away in her sleep on April 26, 2024. Dorthy’s journey began on September 19, 1931, in Little Rock, Arkansas, born to Vaudie and Zelma (Weir) McAfee. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.

For over thirty years, Dorthy dedicated herself to managing and selling tools at Joe Carter Enterprises. Rooted in a large and loving family, Dorthy’s upbringing instilled in her a deep sense of compassion and care. Her weekends were often spent surrounded by family, with her mother’s piano melodies and the harmonies of familial voices filling the air. As a mother and grandmother, Dorthy exuded generosity, love, and kindness. Her warm embrace welcomed both friend and stranger alike, leaving an indelible mark on all she encountered. Whether sharing meals with loved ones or forging friendships at Lakewood House apartments and her church, Dorthy cherished every moment spent in the company of others.

Dorthy is survived by her four children: Eddie (Vicky), Linda, Kenny, and Tammy (Ricky), along with eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A family-hosted visitation will be held on May 11th at 10:30 am, followed by a brief Memorial service at 11:15 am at Sylvan Hills Community Church, located at 8019 Highway 107 in Sherwood, Arkansas.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Dorthy’s spirit will forever reside, dearly missed yet fondly remembered for her unwavering love.

How we loved her! Phillip & I will miss our lunches after church and the fun we had talking about all of her ‘winnings’ from the football games. She was so kind and such a blessing and will be greatly missed. Love to your families!
