Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Vince T. Edgar, 79, of Sherwood, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, May 25, 2024, after a courageous battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Vince was born on June 8, 1944, in Crossett, Arkansas to Clifford and Marie Edgar, who preceded in him in death. He was also preceded in death by his two daughter, Michell Hewitt and Katrina Edgar, and his bonus son, Eddie Hughes.

Vince is survived by his devoted wife, Tish Edgar; his sons, Mike Edgar and Mark Edgar; his bonus children, Tommy Hughes and Diana Wilson; his sister, Patsy Crowell. He was a beloved grandfather to 15 grandchildren and had many great-grandchildren who cherished him deeply.

Vince had a zest for life and loved spending time with his family. He found joy in trips to the beach and the late, and in dancing the night away. His adventurous spirit led him to travel to 48 states on his Goldwing motorcycle, and he even square danced at the Four Corners. Vince had a fulfilling career at Phillips Lighting, where he worked in product engineering and research development for 28.5 years and served as the Chief Union Steward.

After retiring, Vince obtained his Real Estate License and was recognized with the Award of Excellence for his outstanding work as a realtor in the Jacksonville/Little Rock area over three years. He often joked, “I’ve been there, done that,” and lovingly referred to himself as Tish’s chauffeur, saying, “I’m driving Mrs. Tishie around.”

A man of deep faith, Vince loved the Lord and was a member of McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville for over 15 years. He enjoyed listening to old hymns, watching old westerns and Hallmark movies, and had a talent for quoting Bible verses to suit any situation. His love for hunting, fishing, bowling, and square dancing was well-known, and he proudly served as the president of the Arkansas Square Dance Federation. Vince was a 32nd-degree Mason and a Shriner, and his served his country honorable in the Army at Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan.

Vince’s life was a testament to his love for his family, his faith, and his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held to celebrate Vince’s life on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm at McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville, Arkansas. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 10:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to McArthur Church, Sunday School Class, The Golden Seniors, and Young at Heart Group or the charity of your choice in Vince’s honor.

Rest in Peace, Vince. Your legacy of love, adventure, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew you.
