Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Nancy Ruth Brannen Shores, 66 of Sherwood, AR went to her home in heaven on June 2, 2024. She was born to Thomas Lee and Billie Ruth Ashley Brannen on November 12, 1957. The special love and admiration for her parents was carried throughout her life, as she conveyed beautiful memories and stories of their lives.

Nancy worked for Maybelline for many years and then retired. She made lasting relationships within her work family.

Nancy gave her life to Christ when she was eight years old. Since a small child singing in church, she loved singing hymns. She looked forward to seeing Jesus’ face and being welcomed by her dad, Thomas Lee Brannen, her mom, Billie Ruth Ashley Brannen, her brother, Bobby Ray Brannen, and her special brother in loves, Ken Wayne Medlock, and Raymond Alan Voytko.

Nancy made it a point in her life to tell others about Christ with her daily Facebook paintings with a declaration for Jesus. Our family and friends looked forward to reading her posts of God’s promises and love. Her contagious laughter, wisdom, and caring for others was so cherished.

Nancy met her love Johnny almost 40 years ago. She was the love of Johnny’s life, and he emphatically has always stated that she saved his life and that they don’t make a woman like Nancy. He felt that God gave him a diamond and he was a rich man.

They raised two children, Robin Michelle Reed and Christie Lee Melton. They will never truly understand the deep love their mother had for them. The Lord blessed her further with her grandchildren, Courtney Nicole Reed, Cody William (Parey Ann) Reed, Tyler Michelle Reed, William Adam Melton, and Jacob Andrew Melton. Her legacy continued with her great grandchildren, Parker Jean Reed, Adalynn Jane Runyan, Collins Perry Reed, Callum Thax Reed, and Prescott Kate Reed.

Nancy was the baby sister, and she was loved, cared for, and protected by her siblings, Billie Jo (Ken deceased) Medlock, Linda Sue (Raymond deceased) Voytko, Jerry Wayne (Brenda) Brannen, Ronnie Lee Brannen, and her sister in love, Jan Carole (Keith) Covington. She enriched their lives greatly.

Nancy’s Celebration of Life will be held June 15, 2024, at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main St., Jacksonville, AR 72076. Visitation will begin at 10am and her service will follow at 11am.
