Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

James R. Allred, age 60

In Loving Memory of James R Allred, best known as Randy

Randy, a dedicated volunteer firefighter and cherished member of our community, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 60. He was born on September 23, 1963, in Searcy, Arkansas and grew up with a strong sense of duty and a passion for helping others.

Randy served as a volunteer firefighter from 1988 until his cancer diagnosis in 2023. Over the years, he responded to countless emergencies, always putting the safety and well-being of others first. He was not only a hero on the front lines but also a mentor to new recruits, sharing his knowledge and experience generously.

Outside of his firefighting duties, Randy owned and operated a business building custom cabinets and furniture for customers across Arkansas.  He proved to be very gifted and talented in woodworking and his passion for excellence shown through.

Randy is survived by his wife, Teresa Allred of Searcy; his mother, Retha Allred of Des Arc; his sons Eric Allred of Beebe and Ryan Allred of Vilonia; his brother Daniel Allred of Searcy; his sister Lana Smith of Des Arc; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Randy is most proud of his grandchildren Payton, Zander, Raylee, Karleigh, TJ, Alex, and Brayleigh, who affectionally referred to him as Pappy.  He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on August 3, 2024 at 2:00pm at Assembly of God at 101 Benton Ave, Searcy AR. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Winthrop P Rockefeller Cancer Institute or a local volunteer fire station in Randy’s honor.

Randy’s courage, kindness, and dedication will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of service and an example of what it means to be truly selfless.

Went to school with Randy and he was always smiling and just as nice a person that you’d ever meet. He was very good with woodworking from years back. So very sorry for his family and prayers for them.
