Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kitty Holmes, a woman whose tremendous spirit and gracious heart touched the lives of many. Kitty’s love for children was evident throughout her life, as she dedicated herself to the care and nurturing of the young ones. She was a cherished caregiver at Easter Seals, various daycare centers, and churches, and served as a private nanny to a family with two small boys who loved her dearly.

Kitty’s own children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she would do anything for them. Her kindness extended beyond her family, as she had a soft heart for animals and lovingly cared for many pets throughout her life. A stray cat or dog would never remain stray for long when Kitty was around.

Known for her bighearted nature and infectious laugh, Kitty was a generous soul always ready to help those in need. Even when she had very little herself, she gave what she had without hesitation. Her devotion to family was unparalleled, and this is evident in the many who love her and already miss her deeply.

In the second half of her life, Kitty found joy in embroidery, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic talent from her younger years. She also had a passion for plants, especially Azaleas, ferns, and Dogwood trees, which she lovingly tended to.

Kitty is survived by her daughter, Jessica Tacu; sons, Shane Redmerski and Richard Redmerski; daughters-in-law, Brittany Redmerski and Brooke Redmerski; son-in-law, Gabriel Tacu; her sister, Martha Bossong; and her brothers, Melvin Bradford and Dale Bradford. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Devan, Jerricah, Jonah, Faith, Shane, Rayden, and Lawson. Kitty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Holmes, with whom she can now be reunited in Heaven.

A viewing will be held at A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 2620 W. Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will take place at Higden McLehaney Cemetery, located at 175 Church Ln, Higden, AR 72067, on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 8:00 a.m.

Kitty’s legacy of love, generosity, and care will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the family. I met Kitty working in embroidery at Infinity Scrubs and we would have long chats about all sorts of things. She was a great person and will be greatly missed.
