Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Johnny Dewite Bishop, 62, of Hazen, Arkansas lost his battle with cancer and gained his wings on September 6, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Survivors include his fiancé Sandra Tumey of Hazen, AR; son Joey Dale Bishop of Little Rock, AR; stepdaughter Shawana (BJ) Cessor of Hazen, AR; brother James (Tamara) Bishop of Eudora, AR; three sisters Caffie Chambers of Henderson, KY, Doris (Wayne) Wiedeman of Corning, AR, Judy Rio of Jacksonville, AR; two grandsons TJ (Jasmine) Tumey and Tyler Cessor; one granddaughter Jessica Cessor; one great-granddaughter Eris Tumey; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece Amber Dawn (Ryan) Olson who he thought of as a daughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents William (Bill) and Minnie Bell Bishop; three brothers Claude Bishop, Carl (Buddy) Bishop, and William Terry Bishop; and one sister Glenda Dandaridge.

Johnny worked in construction for many years. He loved making wind chimes, wood working, and pretty much anything that involved the outdoors. Johnny loved being around family and friends, especially his great-granddaughter Eris Tumey. He said the moment she yelled, “Pawpaw”, and ran to him with a big hug was one of the best feelings ever. Johnny loved being a jokester and loved making people laugh. He loved helping out those in need. His favorite place to unwind was Mountain View, AR. Johnny will be missed by so many. Rest in Peace until we meet again.

Johnny, oh how you are missed. I’ve cried and cried and just have not felt any peace within since you have been gone. You are/were and will always continue to be a very special person in my life and our memories with you will forever be remembered and cherished and I promise that I’ll see you again some day. I hate that cancer took you away from us and we had to lose you but God and Heaven needed you so much more. We know your not in pain anymore and your not suffering and that makes me content with this situation but I will never ever forget about you… I promise to still love, care and support Sandra with visits and hugs and kisses on the cheek… I’ll never not remember you. I know your in heaven and damn it hurts like hell but happy you aren’t having to fight with the battle of cancer any longer. I love you always and forever and your in my heart forever.

RIP Johnny, see you again one day.
