In loving memory and with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wayne Lee Major of North Little Rock, AR. He died on September 3, 2024 at the age of 77 surrounded in love with family by his side after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born March 29, 1947 to Homer and Doris (Tullis) in Little Rock where he lived in the area all his life. Wayne proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Reserve 1966-1972. He was a carpenter and woodworker by trade and retired from UAMS after 20+ years. In addition to being active in the community he had a passion for WW II aircraft and classic cars (like his prized 1967 Pontiac GTO). He was a founding member and former President of the Arkansas Pontiac Association.
He is survived by his adult children Michelle and Michael, his grandchildren Jordyn, Lauren, Andrew, Megan and his partner of 30 years Stacy along with many other extended family members and close friends.
The funeral will be a private service to remember Wayne in the presence of family and dear friends.
We invite all who may be moved to do something to plant a tree in his memory whether on their own or by donating to the Arbor Day Foundation.

Will be sadly missed. And was a great friend.
Wayne was a friend of mine, definitely one of the good guys. Had the privilege of working with Wayne for many years. RIP buddy.
We knew Wayne from UAMS and later when we joined the Arkansas Pontiac Association. It was right down impossible to not like Wayne. Always had a calm demeanor. We miss you Wayne!
I have known Wayne and Stacy for many years now and have been truly blessed with their friendship and the many hours and times together always brought joy and laughter along with our common interests we shared in life. You are greatly missed and loved by all!
To our dearly beloved friend Brother Wayne. You completely enriched our lives and will be missed so much. Thank you for always being you and always willing to help anyone. We love you much and will see you in heaven. See you on the other side.
Wayne became my brother-in-law when I was 8 years old. He was more like a brother to me for most of my life. He taught me many practical daily life skills just like a big brother would. I loved him dearly and will never forget him. I still have the beautiful, handmade cradle that wayne made for my oldest child before she was born. All 3 of my children slept in it when they were infants. I consider it a family heirloom that I hope to pass on to one of Wayne’s grandchildren when they have children.
My 44 year old daughter still has the stool her “Uncle Wayne” handmade for her and burned her name into. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many.
I’ve known Wayne since our days in the marines, we stayed friends and worked together in construction. I’ll miss him. Prayers for the family.
