Amanda Destiny was born a Scorpio to Barbara Manley on November 20, 1992. Barbara went on to marry Bart Whitlow. Without hesitation, Bart adopted Amada and loved her as his own. Amanda had many struggles and curveballs thrown her way in life. Despite her hardships, Amanda loved and fought for her family until Heaven’s gates called for her. She crossed into God’s Kingdom at thirty-one years old on Friday morning of September 27, 2024, from an accidental overdose.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather Lowell May. She is survived by her grandparents Martha Whitlow, Boyce Whitlow and Branda May; her parents, Barbara and Bart Whitlow; her younger siblings, Ashley Womack, Abigayle Giddens, Axton Whitlow, and Bentley Whitlow; as well as her children, Kalyopi Crosby-Shipman, Charm Cooper, and Isaiah Whitlow. Amanda will be loved and missed dearly by a host of other unnamed family and friends.
She will be remembered for her positivity and love of her family, her pets, reading, music, cooking, and her relationship with God.
Amanda left a book behind called Lord, It’s Me Again: 365 Daily Devotions and the page of September 27th reads:
Your Eyes Will See
“Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; They will behold a far-distant land.” Isaiah 33:17
On the difficult days when our faith is weak, our tears flow freely, and we think our hearts are discouraged, we wish just to see God. We think that if we could look into his eyes, have the chance to ask him our deepest questions- and hear them answered- then we could continue on.
Beloved, the reality of heaven is closer than we can imagine. We will see our King, in all of his greatness and his beauty. We will look upon that distant land of heaven. We will one day dwell there in peace: with ever question answered and every tear dried.
Thank you, God, that you have promised heaven to me through my belief in your Son. Thank you that I will see your face one day and walk with you in your kingdom. When the days are hard, help me to remember that in just a little while all will be well and I will be with you.

Amanda was an amazing soul. She, as we all have, made her mistakes but her children were her pride and joy. She made choices for them that most mothers could not fathom. However, they were made out of love, to give them a better life. True love was shown in those moments. Selfless. She also made dreams come true and no matter how distorted it may have seemed, each one was apart of Gods plan. I knew the moment, I met her God had a great purpose for her. She fulfilled that purpose and is now being rewarded in heaven. I pray that we all remember the beautiful soul she was and is and honor that and let go of the past. We will always be grateful to her for helping us realize our dreams. She will always be our blessed Bonus Daughter. Thank you Lord for allowing her to be apart of our family and share in her legacy. We love you Amanda!
