Barbara Jeanette Davis, 90, of Little Rock, passed away October 25, 2024. Jeanette was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born in Inverness, Mississippi to W.D. Price and Minnie Sue Price Graham on April 15, 1934.
Jeanette was a graduate of Inverness High School in Inverness, Mississippi, where she was a cheerleader, a member of Future Farmers of America, the Girls Electrical Club, the Senior Y-Team, and was the girls’ sports team Editor on the yearbook staff.
Jeanette attended Delta State University. She worked as a flight attendant until she met the love of her life, William Scott Davis Jr. (Bill). Jeanette and Bill were married April 18, 1954, and celebrated 60 years of love and life together.
Jeanette enjoyed many things. Among those things were hosting gatherings of young and old at her home in Fordyce, Arkansas as her kids grew up (she often had countless teenagers swimming in her backyard pool throughout the summer), she enjoyed get togethers during the holidays, and road trips with her beloved Bill (Daddy Bill to his grandchildren) to visit children and grandchildren. She cherished her close friends and enjoyed sitting out on her porch with many of them throughout the years. More than anything else, Jeanette loved and cherished her family.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jack Price, and her daughter, Miki Bass. Jeanette will be lovingly remembered by her remaining daughters; Sandy Devlin (Cory), Nancy Hollings (David), and her son, Scott Davis (Robbi). She will be missed by all her family (including eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren), and extended family and friends.
A family-hosted memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 2:00 p.m. in the columbarium at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church located at 20900 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock. Ms. Jeanette was also so sweet to me. “Miki’s Mama” had a special place in my heart and will always be remembered lovingly.
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about mama Jeanette is tomato gravy. I try to make that delicious breakfast and it’s never as good as hers!
