Rudy L. Cornett, 74, passed away on November 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness.
Rudy is preceded in death by his son, Dewayne Jackson; his parents, Elbert and Aline Cornett; and his brothers, Danny and Steve Cornett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; son Chris (Becky); grandsons Daniel and Aiden; and numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
Rudy was a proud Vietnam War veteran, having served his country with dedication and honor. Though he never sought recognition for his service, he was an unsung hero whose quiet bravery and commitment to others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
An avid fisherman and hunter, Rudy had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether casting his line into a peaceful lake or spending hours in the woods, he found solace in nature’s beauty. His passion for fishing and hunting was matched only by his desire to share ‘those-that-got-away” stories with family and friends.
Rudy’s infectious laugh and larger-than-life personality brightened every room he entered. He had a heart full of kindness and was always the first to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. His generosity, humor, and unwavering spirit of helpfulness made him a cherished friend, husband, father, and grandfather.
A celebration of Rudy’s life will be held on December 7th at 2:00 in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in his honor.
Rudy’s legacy of love, humor, and quiet heroism will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
