Jessie Lee Shields Sr., age 76

Jessie Lee Shields Sr, age 76, of Wrightsville, Arkansas passed away on December 17, 2024. He was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on July 7, 1948 to parents John Shields Jr and Gertrude Shields. He was one of 17 children.

Jessie lived in Chicago, Illinois for many years and worked at the steel mill. He moved to Wrightsville, Arkansas where he was known as “The Helper of Wrightsville” because he never hesitated to help those who needed it. In his spare time, Jessie enjoyed singing, fishing, and swimming. He was a simple man, and he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jessie is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Delorise Shields.

He is survived by two sons Darwin Shields and Jessie Shields Jr; daughter-in-law Krystal Allen; two granddaughters Daija Shields and Daiuna Shields; great-granddaughter Alena Oates; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
