Luetta Danforth, age 90

Luetta Danforth, born Rena Luetta Smitch, age 90, of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2024. She was born in Clifton, Arizona on September 22, 1934 to the late Jordan David Smitch and Rena Laura Bell.

Luetta is preceded in death by her siblings Charlotte Miller, Opal Cunningham, Margaret Trowse, Jettie Menges, June Knowlton, David Smitch, Colin Smitch, and Kent Smitch.

Luetta is survived by her son Frederick Charles, his wife Brenda; Laural Anne Beaty, her husband Ray; Daniel Jordan, his wife Valerie; brother Jay Smitch; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Luetta dedicated her life to serving Christ.  She stood alongside Rev. Dr. Frederick Danforth her husband of 70 years as a minister’s wife.  She was also mother to their three children and one foster daughter.

Luetta had a special heart for all children and served as a CASA volunteer in her early retirement years.  Luetta enjoyed nature and loved to study and watch the many birds in her yard.  She had an amazing green thumb and could grow a multitude of plants no matter where she was.

Luetta and Fred enjoyed travel and spent the summers with their young family visiting all across north America including most of the continental states.  They continued their travels in retirement expanding to several international locations.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church of Little Rock, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church on December 19, 2024 at 10a.m.  First Christian Church is located at 14411 Taylor Loop Rd, Little Rock, AR 72223.
