Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Sherry Lynette Treat Gentry, age 68

Sherry Lynette Treat Gentry
July 15, 1956 – December 17, 2024

Sherry Lynette Treat Gentry, age 68, of Judsonia, Arkansas, passed away on December 17, 2024. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas, on July 15, 1956, to the late Dwane Franklin and Robbie Jean (Parish) Treat.

Sherry is survived by her two sons, Gabe Gentry and Gavin Gentry; three grandchildren, Talyn Gentry, Avyn Gentry, and Lincoln Gentry; as well as a large extended family and many friends.

Sherry lived a life marked by determination, resilience, and love. In her early 30s, as a mother of two, she returned to college to pursue a bachelor’s degree, driven by her desire to create a better future for her family. Graduating at the top of her class, she demonstrated intelligence, perseverance, and dedication.

Her professional life reflected her tenacity and compassion. As a skilled social worker, she instinctively understood how to achieve the best outcomes for those she served.

Sherry took great pride in the “river house” she built and the period of peace it provided her, but nothing brought her greater joy than her children and grandchildren.

In recent years, Sherry faced challenges with mental health that sometimes strained relationships, even with those who loved her most. Yet this truth exists alongside others: she was deeply loved, she brought moments of joy and warmth to those around her, and her presence touched lives in ways that will endure.

A family-hosted memorial service will be held sometime in the new year.

Arrangements are by A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. Online guestbook available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com.

Sherry lived behind me during my elementary years. She was 3 years older than me and I thought she was the coolest! She gave me my first “45” record by the Beatles -I Want to Hold Your Hand. She played outside with us one day in the rain. That day was so very fun I’m so sorry for your loss.
