Andrew Jackson Chambers was born on Christmas Day 1932 to Elona Lois Carmical and Newton Andrew Chambers.
He joined the Navy at 18 years old where he served Honorably during the Koren War. After being discharged, he married the love of his life Shirley Maxine McNew. They were married for 69 years. Andrew is survived by his wife, Shirley Chambers, one daughter Jacklyn Elizabeth, one grandson David (Sara) Potter and four great grandchildren, Michaela, Caitlann, Madalyn, and Jackson. He also had great love for Kelly Humphries, whom he considered a bonus daughter.
Andrew, or known by many as Jack, worked in real estate and in the airline industry for the majority of his career, but his passion was sharing the love of Jesus. He served in numerous ministries over the years and was a faithful servant of his Savior spreading God’s love and the gift of salvation found in Christ. He had the privilege of watching countless people come to salvation in Jesus, including his closest friends and family.
Andrew was known for his generosity, whit, and kindness. He placed others above himself, even to his own detriment. He always chose to see the best in everyone around him. He had a beautiful way of identifying and prioritizing the needs of people and was highly relationally driven. He was a gifted poet penning many beautiful works and was identified by his mantra “Love Don’t Keep Score”. His life was filled with lessons, hardships, and stories that he leveraged into amazing messages of hope. He maintained an eternal perspective while encouraging those whom he encountered, always relying heavily on God’s sustaining power, and reminding those around him “It is well with my soul.”
Andrew Jackson Chambers left his earthly inhabitance on Wednesday January 8th, 2025, and returned home to his Savior. His family and friends will miss him tremendously but take great comfort in the assurance that he is complete, healed, and experiencing the fullness of our God’s great love. The legacy he left for his family will continue to have an eternal impact for generations to come.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

I work with your grandson. You did good.
What a wonderful life and legacy. Service to our nation, a marriage of 69 years, and fatherhood. My condolences during this time.
He sounds like an incredible man who left a beautiful legacy. You can see that in his amazing daughter, Jacklyn. Much love and prayers to the family.
