Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Jack Wilfred Beasley, age 71

Jack Wilfred Beasley, born 12 August 1953 in Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully 15 January 2025, with family by his side.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Major and Ruth Beasley and sister Gayla Marritt.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Thelma Beasley, children Amanda, Charla, Brent, Brian and their families, and brother, Jim and wife Sandy.

Jack joined the Air Force out of high school in 1971 and trained as a turbo prop mechanic on C130s. He spent four years as an instructor for C130 mechanics in Rantoul, Illinois, training several individuals, some of whom he later went on to form close friendships.  Throughout his years in the military, he supported operations during the Vietnam War, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm.  In 1991, he retired at Little Rock Air Force Base, Home of the Herks, in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

This poem is dedicated by his daughter.

It’s time to board a plane.

The sun is shining and the sky an endless blue;
there in the distance, your C130 waits to carry you.

No burdens to load or cargo to haul.
Just the love and memories you carry from us all.

The plane is going to take you far away.
No time to say goodbye.
It’s barreling down the runway.

The flight may be short, like falling asleep.
So many lessons you taught me.
A treasure to keep.

It’s time to board a plane.

With the closing of your eyes, your plane left in a
haste.
Your business is finished here.
There’s no time to waste.

On a call, a message I spoke as you flew.
The last words from daughter to father; “Rest
easy Dad. I love you”

Beneath my mother’s hands the folded flag lay.
It won’t be the same without you, but we will
take it day by day.

Jack was a good hearted man. He was a character too! I was lucky to have been able to work with him, he was someone I could count on. He will be missed. Prayers for peace and healing to his family and friends.

Jack, you will be missed; but the treasure of working with you “is some of the best!”
Rest well Sir, all sympathy to your family

Jack was a wonderful person. He was one of the most selfless people I’ve ever met. I’ll always remember how protective he was of his coworkers, waiting outside regardless of the weather to make sure we made it to our cars okay. I’m glad I had the opportunity to work with him. My heart goes out to Thelma and the rest of his family.
