Johnny Austin Benton, age 66, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away January 26, 2025, at home. He was born in Dumas, AR on December 7,1958 to Carroll Benton and Shirley Bryant.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Carroll Benton; mother Shirley Bryant; stepfather Jimmy Lee Bryant.
Johnny is survived by his daughters, Heather Benton and Renae McPherson; grandchildren, Austin, Nevaeh, Makenzie, Lane, Rylinn, and Natalee; siblings, James D. Benton, Jina S. Langley, Wanda M. Miller, and G. Trina Stine; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Johnny was a loving, funny, and very adventurous man. Even when we cried, he always managed to make us laugh. He always made an effort to be there, all the times of which he kept his promise to be, even when possibilities seemed limited. He didn’t sugar coat things—he was honest and genuine; someone you could trust. He loved his family dearly, and everyone knows just how willingly he would do anything for them. May he stay content and at peace in our hearts and in heaven.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
