Ronald Kent Knott died at the age of 79, on January 16, 2025. Ron was born June 24, 1945 in Duncan, OK. After graduating high school, he moved to Oklahoma City and earned his degree from OSU. In 1965, Ron began working for the US Geological Survey in the Water Resources Division and was transferred to Little Rock, AR. He worked there for 36 years and retired in 2001. Never being one to sit still, Ron was ready to start his second career in remodeling working for his son-in-law. He continued to do so for about 16 years. Ron loved woodworking, and did many improvements around his house as well as projects for others. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed traveling to several different countries, spending time with family, hiking, walking the neighborhood, and helping wherever needed. Ron was a long-standing member of the Philadelphia Church of God, and remained active in his Church until his health declined.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Tressie Knott, his brother Keith Knott, his brother-in-law EB Telford and his great granddaughter Rylie Suitt. He is survived by his sister Carolyn Telford of Houston TX, his sister-in-law Francie Knott of Oklahoma City, OK, his daughter, Renee Morrison (Tommy) of Conway, AR, his granddaughters, Elizabeth Morrison of Conway, AR, Brittney Suitt (John) of Conway, AR, Madelyn Morrison of Boone, NC, and three great grandchildren, Avery Suitt, Nolan Suitt and Ari Suitt all of Conway, AR.
During the last year Ron’s health declined due to Parkinson’s and dementia. The family would like to thank Merle Plain, Seniors Serving Seniors caregivers, Elite Hospice, and the staff at Beebe Retirement Center for their care and support.
A memorial may be determined at a later date.
