Sylvia Sue Cottrill, 82, known as Granny by many, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born to John and Thelma Martin on June 19, 1942 in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
She married Harold Cottrill June 12, 1961. They had 3 daughter Diana (Everett), Karen, and Regina.
She worked at Shelby General Hospital for many years and moving to Arkansas worked at Beebe College. After retiring, her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She always had an open home and would take in anyone that needed a place to stay. No one was a stranger. She treated every one like family. She loved to go camping and take road trips and vacation with her granddaughter, Jessica.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 3 brothers, and her grandson Jeff.
She is survived her daughters, 13 grandkids, 16 great-grandkids, 2 great-great-grandkids, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Funeral service will follow on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 2:00pm in the chapel.
