Ted Stephen “Steve” Miller, age 76, of Jacksonville, Arkansas was born July 15, 1948 in Independence, Missouri to Roy Henry Miller and Zelda Marie Miller. Steve passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, surrounded by his family after a three-week long battle of pneumonia and several other issues that he just could not fight anymore.
Steve graduated high school in 1966 from Harry S. Truman High School and soon after joined the Air Force. He was stationed at the Little Rock Air Force Base and met the love of his life, Patsy, in 1968. They were married June 14, 1969. They were soon stationed in Michigan and met lifelong friends Rick and Jan Barnhouse. In 1970, they welcomed their son Brian, and soon after left the Air Force and moved home to Missouri to raise a family and a farm. In 1974, their daughter, Amy, was born. Steve worked hard providing for his family doing many jobs throughout his life from farming, working at a feed mill, driving a truck, to even a Women’s Prison guard, and he retired as an HVAC Technician. In 1989, farm life had taken a toll and they had to let the farm go. Steve and Patsy also divorced bringing Patsy back home to Jacksonville, Arkansas to finish raising Amy through high school with family near to help. In 1994, Steve moved to Jacksonville, and Patsy never stopped loving him. She took him back, and they were remarried on January 14, 1994 and never left each other’s side. They were married a total of 51 years, sadly celebrating the last in the hospital.
Steve was preceded in death by his dad Roy Miller; stepfather Bill Haynes; maternal grandmother and grandfather James and Gertrude Cusick; and his paternal grandfather Henry Miller.
Steve is survived by his wife Patsy of 51 years; son Brian Scott (Susan) Miller; daughter Amy Sue (Jeff) Goode; mother Zelda Marie Haynes; sister Susan (Bill) Moss; stepbrother Larry (Karen) Haynes; stepsister Lisa (Bart) Stover; several brothers and sisters-in-law Stan and Barbara Forshee, Spike Jones (Nina), and Johnny and Karen Jones; three grandkids that he adored Cole (Ashton) Walker, Alicia (Rob) Evans, and Jackson Goode; one great-grandson that he could not get enough of Beckham Hayes Walker; along with several nieces and nephews that loved him.

I love you all so very much! I am honored to have known Mr. Steve for many years, and witness the love he had for his entire family! His absence will be felt by many, but his memory will be carried on by all that loved him! I pray for guidance, comfort, and peace as you all navigate a new normal together. If I can do anything at all I am just a call away, and right down the road.
