Alan Richard Pogue, age 60

Alan Richard Pogue, 60, of Cabot went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2025. Alan was born on September 23, 1964 to the late George Richard and Mary Joan Pogue in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

SPC Alan Pogue proudly served in the US Army after graduating from Sylvan Hills High School in 1983. Later serving with the Florida Army National Guard HHC 53rd Infantry Brigade in Operation Enduring Freedom where he earned a medal in 2005 for his professionalism and sense of selfless service. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

Following his distinguished military service, Alan began a career in 2010 with Werner Enterprises as a Commercial Vehicle Operator and Instructor for almost 15 years. Known for his dedication, great safety record, and wisdom in the field, he left a lasting impact on those he served and worked alongside.

Alan enjoyed sci-fi movies, books, gaming, and from a young age had always loved anything Star Trek and Star Wars. He spent his time off the road with his best friend and love of his life, Maria, and beloved dogs, Buddy and Jackson. He was also a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Cabot.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife Maria, his stepdaughters Kari and Gracie, grandson Mavric all of Cabot, his brother Jerry Pogue of Dallas, Texas, and dear and close friends Russ Andrews of Irving, Texas and Rick Melvin of North Little Rock, Arkansas. His legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00am at Faith Baptist Church, 301 Bill Foster Hwy E, Cabot, Arkansas, 72023.

    I first met Alan in 1980 or 1981. We spent many a happy hour playing Dungeons & Dragons and Traveler, talking about Star Trek, and driving around town in his Pacer. He was a good soul and the world is the lesser for his passing. May his memory be a blessing.
