David Glenn Hobson (83) of Ferndale, Arkansas received his full healing and heavenly reward peacefully on February 15th, 2025.
David was born on August 4th, 1941 in England, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Willis Glenn and Jessie Tucker Hobson. He was always full of life and shared many happy memories of his younger days playing football and working with his family and friends. He was full of humor and loved a good joke. He never turned away from a challenge, and he learned to be a hard worker who was as tough as “shoe leather.”
David spent over forty five years working for Bale Chevrolet. He was so proud of his time spent there and the lasting friendships made with so many people during this time. He also loved and dreamed of being the owner of a champion thoroughbred. He fulfilled this dream with “Tony,” a winning horse who grew old together with him and was his faithful friend and loyal companion.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife; Norma Joan “Joni” Hobson. He and Joni shared a wonderful life and everlasting love. These two truly shared one heart as they grew older together. They also shared a blended family that will forever miss his presence. This includes son, David Friend; daughter, Dana Friend Curry; daughter, Shalann Hobson Boyce [Jon]; and son, Robert Darrin Friend [Wendy]. He was also dearly loved by many grandchildren; Melissa Alumbaugh [Eric], Landon Friend [Stephanie], Boone Cox [Naomi], Cooper Cox [Emily], Lily Cox, Sarah Sitzes [Aaron], Chloe Friend, Eli Boyce, Wes Boyce; and great-grandchildren, Amelia Ibbotson, Owen Ibbotson, and Beckham Cox. He is also lovingly remembered by his many family members which include brothers and sisters who preceded him in death; Margie Hobson Russell, Donna Hobson Brunner; and Nancy Irene Hobson. He is survived by his brother James William “Bill” Hobson; and sister, Barbara Hobson Mayhan [Gary].
A celebration of his life is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st at the family home in Ferndale. The family requests that he is remembered with joy and happiness only as that is what he desired.
