Glen Arvil McCutchen of Alma, AR passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 81. Glen was born on September 20, 1943, in Fowler, CA to Drexel B. and Flora J. McCutchen.
Glen graduated high school from Harrison High School in Harrison, AR and graduated from University of Arkansas in 1980.
After graduating from University of Arkansas, Glen became a football coach and teacher for the next 25 years, including St. Paul, Mountainburg and Van Buren, Arkansas.
Glen (Wild Horse) was called a cowboy, however, in reality he loved horses whether riding, training, roping, raising, trading, drawing or writing about them. He enjoyed competing with his chuckwagon cooking, hunting and trading western memorabilia and team roping with his wife, Patti, of 41 years. He also enjoyed playing music with his family and friends. He recently illustrated a book of poems, Musings of Shirley Weaver.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Boyd Drexel, and his mother, Flora Jane (Feliz) McCutchen. Glen is survived by his wife, Patti Jane (Presson) McCutchen; Siblings – Timothy Boyd McCutchen and spouse Mary L (Hoelzeman) McCutchen and Gary D. McCutchen and spouse Tammi (Meek) McCutchen. Children- Daughter, Kimberly I. (McCutchen) Kent and husband Robert M. Kent of Fayetteville, AR; Son, Chad Arivil McCutchen and spouse Carmela Anna (Aprea) McCutchen; Grandchildren – Jennifer Ashley (Honeycutt) McGovern and spouse Matthew McGovern; Courteney Nicole Honeycutt; Abby Aprea (McCutchen) Boyd and spouse Scott Boyd; Anna Marie (McCutchen) Brace and spouse Gabe Brace; Anthony Cordiale McCutchen. Three great grandchildren – Levi D. McGovern, Clara J. McGovern and Eloise A. Boyd. And numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Family-hosted Celebration of Life will be held March 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm at The Auction House Event Center, 5701 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR 72956.

Sure gonna miss ole Glen! He was a mainstay at our WPRA Finals and all of the WPRA Roping Events. His legacy of beautiful horses will continue to make people happy for years to come. Condolences to Patti and the family. Ride high up in Heaven, Glen! U deserve it!

He was my favorite coach. He loves telling the story about me after I graduated school parachuted into a football practice out of an airplane one day. He said I knew that was you did when I seen some idiot falling from the sky lol who is a great guy. Great friend.
So sorry to hear of Coach’s passing. He was a good coach the kids at St.Paul love him so much. He had a good sense of humor with the kids. Our daughters Dana and Lana thought so much of him and his brother. A gain so sorry for the loss of a good man..
