Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Joshua Andrew Melhorn, age 36

Joshua Andrew Melhorn, age 36, went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2025. He was born on July 12, 1988 to Craig Melhorn and Stephanie Jones in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Josh was a very loving son, brother and friend. He brought a lot of fun times to all of us. His sharp wit always had a way of making others laugh and making life a little less serious.  He had an amazing soul, and we are forever grateful for the time we were able to spend with him.  He will be remembered for his laugh, his big ole hugs, his kindness and selflessness. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way he lived it… like a ROCKSTAR, and for the profound impact it had on the lives and of those who had the honor of knowing him.

Joshua is preceded in death by his grandmothers Rebecca Melhorn and Nadine Locklin.

Joshua leaves behind his children Isaac Matvei Shaffer and Isabelle Zharia Shaffer; Parents Stephanie (Tom) Davis, Ronnie Sollars, and Craig Melhorn; siblings Matthew Melhorn, Chelsie McGoogan, Brandon Sollars, Haleigh Melhorn, and Derek Payne; uncles David (Angel) Melhorn, Kevin Melhorn, Mark (Denetia) Melhorn, Andy Jones and Billy (Amanda) Jones; and grandmother Bobbye Pennington.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 A.M. at A Natural State Funeral Service, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076.

I don’t even know what to say. I love you so much. I will forever miss you. You were my brother. You came to help me at my lowest when you really didn’t have anything to give. That didn’t matter to you though. You seen me struggling and that’s all that mattered. You were there for me when I had nobody. You cared about me when I didn’t care about myself. I’ve lost many many friends and family but losing you hurts deeper than I thought I could bare. Even though we got into trouble together and wasn’t always doing right I know that you were one of the best parts of my life. You were the godparent to my boys for a reason. You would protect them like they were your own because to you they were family. I love you beyond words and miss you in a way I don’t know if time will heal.

My condolences go out to you Chelsea and the rest of your family. I know he was a super caring funny person who always made people laugh and never thought twice about helping someone in need.

My brother, I am so sorry to hear of your passing but at peace that you’re free from this. I know we knew each other from back when we were using and I haven’t talked to you in years, but from what I have read and heard you have helped many. Living in recovery isn’t easy and you did the best you could. Fly high my brother. 💙
