We mourn the loss of Sunserae “Sunny” Simmons, who spent a joyful life full of laughter, kindness, and love. Born on October 4, 1978, and passing away on February 10, 2025, Sunny filled the lives of many with her light-hearted humor and endearing goofiness. Her legacy of kindness will always be remembered and cherished by those who knew her.
Sunserae is survived by her loving daughters Destiny Greer and Josephine Simmons; her ex-husband Daniel Simmons; brothers Bill and John Bush; son-in-law Dakota Greer; and her adoring granddaughters Liana and Viola Greer. Her parents, Sharon and John W. Bush, preceded her in death.
One of Sunny’s most cherished accomplishments was having a family that loved and supported her throughout her life. The lessons she imparted, of kindness and being there for one another, will carry on in the hearts of those she influenced. Sunny’s spirit and wisdom are a testament to the positive impact one person can have on the lives of others.
Sunny has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled. Her laughter, her caring nature, and her devotion to family will forever be missed. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends as they navigate through this difficult time. She will be truly missed but her legacy of kindness and love will live on in the memories we shared with her.
A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date.
Donations can be sent to A Natural State Funeral Service to help the family with Sunserae’s final arrangements.
