Ashley was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 31, 1982. She graduated from Cabot High School in 2000 and from Arkansas State University in 2005 with her Bachelors in Early childhood education, her Masters in Curriculum and Administration from Arkansas Tech University in 2009 and her Special Education Certification from Henderson State University in 2024.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Lavois and JB Launius, Dorothy and Lewis Buck and her Uncle Bill Launius.

Ashley is survived by her parents, Ronnie and Tammy Buck, her daughter Chandler Burns, her brother MacGyver (Amy) Buck, her niece and nephews, Dorothy, Waylon and Jack whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by Chris Burns and stepdaughter Melia.

Ashley was an educator for 20 years with the last two years being a Special Education Resource Teacher at Harris Elementary, where she dearly loved the kids and staff. Harris felt like home to her.

Her last journal entry on March 13th, was a prayer for God to reveal her gift, but we all knew her gift was her infectious smile and ability to love with her whole heart. She also wrote that day that she wanted to see God’s character more clearly so it could become her character. Her faith was strong since the age of 6, when she accepted the Lord into her heart. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas.

A visitation and share time will be held on Wednesday, March 26th, from 6-8pm at A Natural State funeral home in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, an account will be opened for her daughter Chandler’s education.

Rest in peace and love our sweet baby girl.

My teacher bestie! Oh how my heart misses her already. She was more than a friend to me. She was the little sister I didn’t know I needed. I will always remember all the laughter and tears we shared in the short time we had together. I’m so happy that we will get to be together again!
And Chandler, just know that Mrs Campbell loves you too! I am so glad we got to go floating the river together. I’m so glad I was there to save you from the stick snake and share the dry snacks. Love you sweet girl!!

I met Ashley last summer as she was getting ready to start this school year.
    She genuinely loved her students.
She was a wonderful mother and loved her daughter Chandler fiercely.
I was so sad to read of her passing.
Eternal Rest Grant Unto Her O Lord and Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her.
    May She Rest In Peace

Ronnie & Tammy, Even though we’ve lost touch through the years, you two ALWAYS had a special place in our hearts. When I heard of your sad loss, I wanted to reach out. I’m so, so sorry for your indescribable pain and suffering that most of us can’t ever imagine, but my heart hurts deeply for you.

Please know I’m lifting your family up in prayer that God’s hope-filled promises bring comfort to your souls and peace to your hearts.

Ms. Burns had a deep love for the students at Harris Elementary. She was always ready to lend a hand to any student or staff member in need. Her presence, symbolized by her beloved “rolling cart,” is profoundly missed by all of us. She was here and she will never be forgotten. With heartfelt sympathy, Tracy Bailey, Interim Principal, Harris Elementary.

Fly high my sweet angel and even though we never made it to the beach for our perfect ceremony, you were my perfect wife in every way that counts. Thank you for saying Yes. Just like the Forever Linked Together bracelet you bought me says Love you forever…
